Vanbot has done it. She given her voice to a dance track, appearing as the featured vocalist on the new single from Dutch producer Marcel Woods.
We like it when this sort of thing happens. When a singer of one particular genre gets invited to provide the vocal on a track of a different genre. You get to hear that singer do something totally different, and it doesn’t interfere with their regular output, or compromise any of their ‘artistry’.
And it’s even better when the resulting song turns out to be a blinder, and on a par, quality wise, with that singer’s other material that you know and love so much.
‘Bring It Back’ is one such track. Vanbot seems to provide not just a Scandipop vocal, but is also the harbinger of some serious Scandipop melodies going on. And the production on the track is the right level of commercial for our poptastic palate. IN FACT, the best bit of the song is actually the instrumental part that starts at 2:16 in the below stream. It sounds like the second coming of Tina Cousins. Yes, that good.
It’s A Serious Dance Release, which means that it’s not yet out on iTunes, but instead available on Beatport. Or you can just listen to it here;
