After her Eurovision success at the weekend (hey – she qualified!), Finnish popstrel Krista Siegfrids follows up ‘Marry Me’ with a brand new single, ‘Amen’.
The video, and in some way the song too, are set two months after the marriage that takes place at the end of the ‘Marry Me’ video. It didn’t last. And now she’s single again, back on the prowl.
‘Amen’ is actually a lot better than ‘Marry Me’. This one’s got more of an attitude, more of a punch, and more of a tune to it too. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it at least knows which classic pop songs of recent years to align itself to. This one sounds like one of the better Red One tracks that he was churning out around the time Lady Gaga first exploded. With a little bit of Ke$ha added to the mix. It takes her out of Eurovision and into the mainstream.
“AMEN oh-oh, I’m born again”
Krista released her debut album ‘Ding Dong’ (amazing) this week. And if you live outside of Finland, you can pick it up on CD from our store right here.
