Time for some female fronted Norwegian electropop. Even just saying those words translates into a foregone conclusion that it’s gonna be good, doesn’t it?!
The lady in question is Kate Havnevik, who is gearing up to release her second album ‘You’ next month. With it comes a lead single – extraordinary enough in quality so as to best showcase this aformentioned album she’s gonne be trying to flog soon.
That lead single is ‘Mouth 2 Mouth’. And if the fact that it’s the lead single off a female fronted Norwegian electropop album didn’t hook you in enough, we’ve got another concentrated dosage of promise with regards to the whole thing. It’s co-written (with Kate herself) and produced by Guy Sigsworth – he of legendary writing and production status, who has also worked with other Scandipop favourites Robyn and Björk.
So yes, naturally it’s fair to say that ‘Mouth 2 Mouth’ is quite brill. A stunning production, a captivating topline, and an intriguing vocal. It all adds up to a song which makes you want to go back for more once that fade out at the end starts.
