New Swedish electropop act on the block, Kate Boy, have just yesterday gifted folk with a second sample of what they’re capable of, after last month’s debut ‘Northern Lights‘.
It’s ‘In Your Eyes’. And it’s been touted as being the “b-side” to their debut EP (also titled ‘Northern Lights’) which is released early next year. ‘In Your Eyes’ starts off a bit dull, truth be told. But once that repetitive chorus kicks in, and you get more accustomed to what’s going on with the beat, well – it turns into another example of just why this new act could be so exciting. It’s creative electropop music.
It’s sort of amusing – a lot of the blog exposure they’ve had for debut single ‘Northern Lights’ hasĀ centeredĀ around the fact that nobody knows much about them. This has culminated in Spin.com reaching out to Kate Boy for more info. We love their response: “The snow is falling outside the window but we are sitting inside our studio, heated only with constantly running synths and computers. We are working on our forthcoming Kate Boy album and we are so longing to get out there and play live. But for now we need to keep indoors, so we send you this new track ‘In Your Eyes’, the B-side on our debut EP“.
So there you go.
