Jonas Oakland is back with a new single! After his well received cover of Ankie Bagger’s ‘Where Were You Last Night‘, he returns with an original composition, ‘Who’s That Boy’. And it becomes apparent that ‘Where Were You Last Night’ also served to bridge the gap between two different music styles – the dance orientated pop music that he was making of yesteryear, and the pop orientated dance music that he’ll be making from now on. Read that sentence again if it doesn’t make sense to you.

Things we like most about the new Jonas Oakland single;

  • The piano riff running throughout
  • The brilliant melody of the verses
  • The production on the chorus
  • The mental post-chorus
  • The middle eight
  • That intro bit that for a split second makes us think we’re listening to Emma Bunton’s ‘What Took You So Long’

Ok, so that’s quite a lot of things, sorry. We’ll try to narrow it down next time.

The single is released worldwide on iTunes on Tuesday, March 3rd. That’s next Tuesday. BUT – he’s given us a clip of it to stream ahead of its release. Initially he wanted to give us a smaller clip, but we’ve persuaded him to send a clip that incorporates the intro, the verse, the chorus, and the post-chorus – such is the magnitude of elements that we feel need showing off.

And he obliged. Here it is;

It’s out on Tuesday, and a video will be released at a later date.
