New Swedish pop gent and one of our ‘Brightest Hopes for 2009’ in last year’s scandipop awards, Jonas Oakland, is back with a new single called ‘Stay’. He dazzled us last year with the brilliant ‘Beat of My Heart’ – a BWO-esque anthemic dancefloor filler. Now the world is being treated to ‘Stay’ – a beautiful string laden disco song, much in the same winning formula as ‘Beat of My Heart’. Again it sounds very much like BWO, not just because of the electronic pop music, but also because his voice sounds very similar to Martin from BWO, and because the lyrics to the verses are quite Alexander Bard-esque. This is no bad thing – merely a recommendation that if you like BWO, then there’s a good chance you’ll like Jonas Oakland.
