After the pan-Nordic success of Isac Elliot so far this year, we suppose it’s only natural that Finland would produce a female version – just to balance things out a bit. And that might well be Jenni Jaakkola.
Warner Finland popped the video for her debut single ‘Tämä On Unta’ up on YouTube on Friday, and it’s already received over 50,000 views. 1 or 2 of them from us. Maybe more. It’s a simplistic and sweet dancepop track. And it’s not dance music for kids either. In fact, you can’t even tell it’s being performed by a 13 (or 14? 15?) year old girl if you don’t watch the video while listening to the song.
There’s no reinventing of any wheels here. Just a smooth cruise through the process of what’s been done before, but doing it well.
The single doesn’t appear to have been released yet, even in her native Finland. But here’s the video;
