So, here’s the winner’s song from Swedish Idol 2010. And the winner! ‘Dreaming People’ by Jay Smith.
It’s typical Idol winner’s song fare, but with a rockier edge. And with a good strong string riff that we really like. Suitably epic, anthemic, inspirational, and uplifting – as these songs always need to be. We always love the winner’s songs that these shows get. Although this one is cut above the usual, composed by Sharon Vaughn, Svante Halldin, Jakob Hazell, and Christian Walz. We’re very much looking forward to hearing the studio version.
Although we HAVE to say – we do prefer the version performed by runner up Minnah Karlsson. Only marginally though. Jay Smith, whilst appealing more to a demographic that we’re not a part of, sung a great song very well. And we do look forward to hearing it on record.
