Who are The Well? A five piece band from the West Coast of Norway, who have just released an incredible track called ‘Sierra’.
Yeah but who ARE they? Ah. That’ll be Freddy Bertheussen Brurås (Vocal), TJ Bertheussen Brurås (Drums), Oliver Brurås Vandvik (Keys), Andrew Brurås Vandvik (Bass), and Ollie Minde Nese (Guitar).
What’s ‘Sierra’ like? ‘Tis one of those tracks that is brilliantly unclassifiable by genre. Let’s just say that it lures you in with an 80s-esque synth verse, packs an almighty punch with a growling bridge, and wait – yes – there it is – shades of TROPICAL HOUSE for what we can’t decide is either a chorus or post-chorus. A thoroughly enjoyable listen, this one.
More from them? You can also check out previous single ‘Separate Ways’, which came out at the end of last year. And kudos to Record of the Day for pointing these chaps out to us.
