A brand nw Swedish boyband arrived over the weekend. Swayday launched with their debut single ‘Curious’. A boyband debut with a difference in terms of how it sounds. The song is a super funked up track with a bombastic production, and with a playful vocoder element added for the chorus. Their debut EP arrives early next year, and of ‘Curious’ the boys had this to day: “Curious plays a bit with gender roles, for example, how girls and boys perceive each other and what they’re expected to do. Many of today’s songs are about relationships and sex. Usually it’s girls/women who get objectified on the lyrics, and so we felt that it was time to do something different. Instead of having an “intimate” hook, we chose “Curious” as the main word. So the song doesn’t talk about the woman in the “expected” way, it rather deals with relationships in a lighter style.
