Exciting new popstar ALERT. After making the live finals of Idol in 2013, Swedish artist Matilda Melin withdrew from the stage to hone her craft for a little while. And now in 2017 she returns as Orkid. And CHRIST has she honed that aforementioned craft. She released debut single ‘Soulmates‘ earlier in the summer, and now she’s back with the follow up. Brand new single ‘Only If You Want To’, released over the weekend. Written by Matilda herself, along with Kamilla Bayrak and Åke Andersson, it’s an anthemic bit of uplifting synthpop that commands – and gets – attention on first listen.
