ØÖRESUND are a new pop duo emerging from the Nordics – two Nordic countries, to be precise. They hail from Denmark and Sweden, as the name might have hinted at. And their debut single – ‘Ønsker Du Var Straight’ – heralds them as ones to watch. They come straight (no pun intended) out with a very strong start. A bittersweet love song about the end of a gay love affair; the deterioration of which has led to one wishing the other had been straight so that they’d never fallen in love. The tale is set to a beautiful electronic soundscape that only serves to heighten the drama and turn up the heartache. We’re gripped on this pair already.
