Last night, Swedish Idol got its latest winner – 27-year-old Nike Sellmar from Piteå in the far north of Sweden. And mere minutes later, she got to release her first song – the annual winner’s single! This year’s song is ‘Anything You Say’, written by Ola Svensson, Victor Crone and Jonas Jurström. The rousing tone with which Idol winner’s singles have become synonymous with remains intact, but this time it’s been paired with an up-tempo synthpop production with a pleasingly euphoric edge to it. It’s almost bubblegum in its make-up, but oh my what a sugar rush that gives!
