What’s this? THIS ladies and gents is the debut single from Minnah. ‘Pale Skies’, released today.
Who is Minnah? She is Minnah Karlsson – her who came 2nd in the 2010 series of Swedish Idol. Directly after the contest, she released an album of cover versions with Sony Sweden. Then we waited for her proper debut single to arrive. And we waited. Waited some more. Stopped waiting. But now six years later it’s arrived.
Why the wait? Five years of writing and finding her sound, according to the lady herself.
And what’s the song like? Very good. An organic pop track which shines most during its chorus melody – a chorus melody which is hammered home that bit further as it’s used again as an eccentric and dramatic post-chorus. The last chorus is the best bit though – where she lets rip. That’s six years of vocal histrionics which have been waiting to get out.
