Who is Albin Lander? Albin Lander is a 17 year old Swedish chap whom we believe will be The Next Big Thing. He’s got a good pop pedigree – Vendela Palmgren is his sister.
Has he got a record label behind him? Sony Music Sweden signed him up in June. Although he’d been badgering away on his own for quite some time before then – gigging around Sweden and building up a bit of a fan base.
Has he released a single yet? Nope – his first single isn’t expected until early 2015.
Oooh Melodifestivalen? Don’t count on it. In a recent interview with a Swedish teen magazine, he said that Melodifestivalen wasn’t really his thing. So we reckon he’ll ‘do a Zara Larsson’ in that respect.
So what do we have to go on then? He’s just launched his own Vevo channel , and uploaded two cover versions over the last couple of weeks. You can watch them both below.
And is that an indication of his eventual sound? He describes his sonic style as “John Mayer with a twist”. He’s currently working with a heap of songwriters, and is involved in the songwriting process with each of them.
