Last night Denmark got a new X Factor winner – this young lady Ida.
She was considered a favourite since her wowsome first audition, and then throughout the live shows (here she is singing Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Save The World’ while on piano). But it was her performance of Coldplay’s ‘Paradise’ on last night’s final that got her the crown – it was something seriously special.
Ida won and so will release the traditional winner’s single. This year’s single is ‘I Can Be’ – a song about being yourself unapologetically. It’s a quirky number, sort of Florence & The Machine-lite. British X Factor fans could imagine it being the sort of song that would have suited a Janet Devlin win last year. It’s certainly not your standard X Factor or Idol winner’s song though, so for that it should be applauded.
Here she is performing it, and you can listen to the studio version here.
