Over in the US, a new series, Shake It Up, has started on the Disney Channel. And what’s that got to do with Scandinavian pop music, we imagine you to wonder! Well – the theme song to the show is of note. It’s called ‘Our Generation’, and is by an act parading as Hot Rush. However, if you listen, you’ll hear that it’s actually quite clearly Ms Sibel Redzep providing the vocal talents. And the song itself is actually quite good in a scandipop/Disney half-breed sort of way. Like when the creators of Bratz drafted in Scandinavians to write, produce, and sing the soundtrack to the Rock Angelz film – that was really good! And this is too. Perhaps not on first listen, but certainly after a few.
