Young Swedish popstrel (we can’t believe she’s still only 17 years of age – it feels like we’ve been writing about her for years. Well, we have. But still) Hilda Stenmalm today announced that she’ll be releasing a brand new single next week. It’s ‘Worry’, and it’s a charity single that’s all in aid of Världens Barn.

‘Tis a ballad. Not one of those soft piddly ballads, but instead an almighty belter of a thing that’s big on the emotion, and even larger on the melody. The chorus of this is quite Miley Cyrus. In that it comes in like a wrecking ball. Or rather, just like ‘Wrecking Ball’. But that’s obviously no bad thing. It means that ‘Worry’ is as modern and as current a ballad as you can get. Yet still has a tune that’s good enough to make you believe it could well be timeless. Best bit is the super charged middle eight, after which the song drops out, and then comes back. Like a wrecking ball.

‘Worry’ will be released next Friday, May 30th. But before then, she’s letting you lot have a listen to a preview.

All profits of the single will go towards the children’s charity Världens Barn. And there’ll be a video for the single filmed next month. Hilda wrote the song herself, along with Lisa Desmond Linder and Anton Malmberg Hård af Segerstad. (we’ll never tire of writing that man’s name. Mostly because it more often than not accompanies a fantastic song, but also just because – that name!)
