This super cute and super(b) pop gem arrived in our lap at some point over the last week or so. All the way from Iceland. And when Icelandic folk get it right, they usually get it very right indeed.

‘Blue Velvet’. Not that ‘Blue Velvet’ though, but an original song. It’s an unexpected combination of electropoppery crossed with a 60s Motown inspired sound. That’s what everyone else is hearing too, right? And placed over the top of it is an endearingly quirky female vocal. The aforementioned mish-mash of genres is the song’s biggest charm though. For all the electropop around right now, and in particularly in Scandinavia, there ain’t nobody else doing it like this.

We don’t know anything about either Halleluwah or Raketa. We don’t even know for sure which one of them is the lady singer, if either of them. The song isn’t out on iTunes either. It’s all just SUCH a mystery. But look, just enjoy the song and video for what they are and for they are here. That’s what we’ve been doing.
