So it is with wide arms open in which we welcome new Finnish nine piece girlband GO9, and their debut single ‘Shopaholic’. Although actually, initially we were quite hostile. Because you see, on first listen to this a few weeks back, we thought that “shit like this” was in fact, a bit shit. Then we revisited it last week and it got better. And then we gave it another bash this week with THE AMAZING BUBBLEGUM VIDEO, and well we’re now all over this shit like flies to….etc.
It’s an infectious little pop gem that chants its way through three minutes. Its trademark is the cascading and then descending chorus melody. And the whole thing is backed by a punchy production. HOW did we ever doubt its genius. But let our errors serve as a cautionary tale to yourself – give it a few listens in order to bed in.
