We do love a bit of Icelandic popstar breeding here at scandipop. And the latest concoction is a collaboration between Galaxies and Haffi Haff.
Indulge us while we go about refreshing your memories please. Ok, so Galaxies are the RED HOT female duo who burst onto the Icelandic pop scene this year with the PH’NOM ‘I Don’t Want This Love‘. That song still delights us on a weekly basis, and we will never quite get our head around that classical-crossbred-with-clubland middle eight. Meanwhile Haffi Haff is a RED HOT hunk that we first wrote about back in March 2009 and again in June of that year, but who was then awful quiet up until his collab with Hera Björk this summer (see what we mean about Icelandic popstar breeding?!).
‘Sex Freak’ is the name of their bastard child. Conceived during the throws of a particularly fucked up tryst. This one ain’t big on melody, but it over compensates for that on its electropop production. The audio on this is one big, long, and vigorous headfuck. With the sex noises and moans kept on the record for extra titillation.
Personally, we hope that Galaxies go back to the sound of ‘I Don’t Want This Love’ for their next single, but this is a welcome detour, and it’s always nice to see/hear Haffi Haff again.
It’s out on iTunes at this very minute, all around the world.
