Gabrielle of ‘Ring Meg’ sublimity is BACK with a new single and video – the more dance orientated (hooray!) ‘Bordet’.
The Norwegian X Factor graduate is sounding even better on this one. We really enjoyed ‘Ring Meg’ – as did most of Norway this summer, given the song’s success – but ‘Bordet’ is even more up our neon lit street. The charming thing about the song isn’t a balls-out pop melody, or a screaming synth production – it’s the opposite. The production IS dance, and the topline IS pop, but they’re much more down-played and chilled out than the usual dancefloor stompers that gets us whipped up into a frenzy. But the sound of ‘Bordet’ still manages to be equally compelling – something which becomes even more apparent upon second listen of the song.
