Remember Swedish pop gent Evan? Big in parts of the noughties, and then he came back in recent years with the really quite ph’nom single ‘Fall From Grace’ produced by SoundFactory.
Well he’s back again. He released a brand new single and video this week, ‘I Would Freeze Time’. It’s a gorgeous 80s synth ballad, dripping with strings and with a cracking melody. It’s a sad one, this one. But a really enjoyable listen nonetheless. It actually sounds like it could well be one of BWO’s better ballads. The ying to the yang of Martin Rolinski himself competing in Melodifestivalen tonight, with the up-tempo BWO-esque ‘In And Out Of Love’.
The video has also been really well done, if a little grim and depressing. But hey-ho, it goes with the song.
The single (available outside of Sweden too) also includes a Swedish language version as a b-side, ‘När Jag Andas’.
