After yesterday’s ‘Told You’, Eva & The Heartmaker have today premiered the other half of their new digital double a-side single over on Norway’s Gaffa. It’s ‘Take A Ride’.
It’s not just the other side of the single, it also serves as the other side to Eva & The Heartmaker’s sound. Heavier, grittier and a tad more organic than the dreamy synth pop of ‘Told You’, ‘Take A Ride’ unsettles (in a good way) as opposed to lifts. And rather than carry the listener up to a dream state, this one drags it into a fucked up trip – which we kind of like.
One thing ‘Take A Ride’ has in common with ‘Told You’, is its love of an extended outro. This one takes it to new lengths though – quite literally – having the song clock in at over five minutes.
‘Told You’/’Take A Ride’ will be released on Monday.
