What’s this? Last night, Norway held the final of Melodi Grand Prix 2020, and we have a winner, which means that Norway has its 2020 Eurovision Song Contest entry. ‘Attention’ by Ulrikke.
What’s it like? An unashamedly theatrical ballad. This one dares to go big, and has all the majesty to back it up with. The fact that the lyrics are about crying out for attention makes the composition and structure of the song all the more genius. And this is already a serious contender to take the Eurovision win in May. Ulrikke achieves the rare, Dami Im-esque feat of performing the song even better than on record, making for a thoroughly striking three minutes.
Written by? Christian Ingebrigtsen, Kjetil Mørland and Ulrikke Brandstorp.
