Eurovision 2016: Finland’s Song!

Finland last night held its final of UMK – and chose the song that will represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest. It’s Sandhja – ‘Sing It Away’. A discopop number that’s upbeat enough to hopefully get Europe voting for it and Finland into the final, but equally forgettable and generic enough for it to be an uphill struggle on the night. We hope for the sake of the song that it’s surrounded by a sea of ballads in its semi. It’s not bad. Just not anything all that special either.

What would we have chosen instead? ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ by Tuuli Okkonen of course! Though really, we wish Satin Circus had waited a year longer to come out with ‘Crossroads’…
