Erik Segerstedt – the man who puts the E in EMD – has unleashed a brand new single upon his native Sweden. It’s called ‘Break The Silence’, and his fans will be pleased to learn/hear that it isn’t even a slight departure from the sound he carved out for himself on his post Idol debut album a few years back. It’s a melodic slice of mid-tempo pop infused rock. Big chorus, big guitars, and big drums. It’s got a touch of the ‘anthem’ about it. And natuarally, Sir Segerstedt sounds great on it. Plus kudos to him for sticking with his sound and not jumping on the Taio Cruz and RedOne-esque bandwagon. A man who stays true to his craft. Sexy!
It sounds like it could be the winner’s single from one of these X Factor and Idol shows. And that’s because it is – it’s a cover of the song that Jason Hartman released straight after winning series 5 of South Africa’s Idol .
