Swedish duo Jubël are out with a brand-new EP, which is always something of an event to these ears. On ‘Daydreamin’, they’ve packaged up the three singles they’ve released throughout 2023 – ‘No More Tears’, ‘Triple A’ and ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’ – and they’ve graciously added two new songs, too. Both of the new tunes have a distinctly ’80s feel to them, though at opposite ends of the sonic spectrum. ‘Blue Corvette’ emanates chill vibes only via its dreamy soundscape, whereas ‘Butterfly’s the broad-winged, multi-coloured show-stopper of the EP – offering up a catchy synth riff that’s reminiscent of Yazoo at their finest. The latter is already set to be a Jubël classic – which is high praise indeed, where these two are concerned.
