What’s this? Back in February, Swedish newcomer Jaynie made a large impression on us with ‘Socially Awkward‘. Now she’s back with the release of her debut EP – ‘Defenses’.
What’s on it? ‘Socially Awkward’ serves as the EP’s opener, and is followed by five other tracks to get acquainted with.
Highlights? For the bops, go straight to ‘Blame’ and ‘All That Glitters Isn’t Gold’. And then you’ll want to keep going back to them. But don’t miss out on the EP’s biggest gem – ‘Gone’. It’s a beautiful electro ballad that even on its own merit would earmark Jaynie as one to watch throughout the near (and hopefully distant, too!) future. But surrounded by the rest of what’s on this impressive debut EP, it’s cemented – Jaynie’s a new fave newbie!
Written by? The whole EP is written by Jaynie herself, along with Simon Öbom.
More from Jaynie? Recently, she featured on the also-really-quite-marvellous Kløn track ‘I’m Not Pretty‘.
You can find ‘Gone’ on our Best New Pop playlist.
