What’s this? Swedish artist ILY is releasing her album ‘Neurotic’ later this year. And this weekend she released the first bundle of three songs from it.
What are the songs like? Three quite disparate tunes all linked together via one common trait – DISCO! Title track ‘Doing It Better’ is the purest of the three, in that it’s the most richly infused with the disco style. ‘For You’, meanwhile, is some properly bouncy house. Our favourite of the bunch, however, is ‘California Gold’ – a luxurious slice of electropop that aims for the grandiose, and lands there beautifully. It’s a song that many of your faves would be excited to come back with as the lead single to their next era!
Written by? All three songs are written by ILY herself, along with Albin Myers. Pat Lok co-wrote and co-produced the song ‘Doing It Better’.
