What’s this? She’s been dazzling us with sublime singles throughout 2021, and now Danish artist BBYBITES is out with her debut EP – ‘Pleazer’.
What’s on it? Her three singles ‘Pleaser’, ‘Take Me Hard’ and ‘bby’, plus three brand-new tracks.
What’s it like? An EP of pure disco decadence with an ice-cool r&b edge to it. Delivered with unfaltering sass and charismatic confidence. She exudes a definite rock-star air across the whole collection, which is kinda hard to pull off on one’s debut EP. We suspect we’ll be hearing many more EPs from this artist, however.
What does she say? “This EP is about being a confused girl who spent a lot of time pleasing others – cause when she didn’t know who she was, the most important thing was that people liked her. It’s about being trapped in a thought about how “a woman is supposed to be” – and that thought is now very different from when I was growing up. Now we’re supposed to not give a fuck. Which is not always an easy task. This EP is my goodbye to the young confused girl, who only cares about what others think about her and puts herself second every time – bye bitch, now I’m a woman.”
