What’s this? FRESH from the release of last year’s huge comeback album ‘Dark Hearts‘, Norwegian artist Annie is back today with the release of a new EP – ‘Neon Nights’.
What’s on it? Two previously released singles – ‘Neon Lights’ and ‘Just Like Honey’ – plus an intriguing intro track ‘Annie’s Love Theme’, a cover of the Dirty Dancing classic ‘She’s Like The Wind’, and a Richard X collab, ‘April’.
This all sounds wonderful! It really is! We’re so glad she’s back. And releasing music at this volume.
Highlights? Well we’ve already raved plenty about the single ‘Neon Lights’ on here, so we’ll leave that to speak for itself for now. The cover of ‘She’s Like The Wind’ does what it probably didn’t even set out to try to do – and ends up better than the original. And ‘April’ sounds like the kind of result of Annie and Richard X reuniting that we hadn’t even dared dream of – already up their with the best of both artists.
You can find ‘April’ on our Best New Synthpop playlist.
