THE best song of 2010, ‘Funeral’ by Elin Lanto is finally getting released as a single!
You can read our full thoughts on the brilliant ‘Funeral’, in our track by track review of her album from last year. Almost a year later and we still think it’s the perfect piece of pop tunage. Although we’d assumed that it was to go down as one of the all time injustices of pop, by not being released as a single, and forever being consigned to hidden gem, album track status. Thankfully though, Catchy Tunes, her label in Sweden, have done the decent thing and are giving it its rightful chance to shine. The beautifully macabre melody will now hopefully captivate a much larger audience.
7th Heaven have been drafted in on remix duties too, and have delivered a clubland revision of the song, while thankfully still staying true to its piano riff origins. Elin goes from dancing on graves, to full on clubbing!
