Here’s a bit of a stunner of a track that we discovered earlier this week. ‘Natlys’ by Danish singer Dorthe Gerlach. She’s the vocalist of the Danish band The Sound of Hush, although we’ve not featured her or the band on here before.

What’s so stunning about it then? Oh you know – it’s just one of those brilliantly produced synth ballads that we seem to lap up so much around these parts. And fittingly, which Scandinavian singers seem to do so well and all. This one’s also got a strong melody on its side too – not always essential when you are dealing with the intricacies of a brilliantly produced synth ballad, but definitely even more of a bonus. The vocals are also quite something too. Although it’s the instrumental post-chorus that provides the high point of the song. We were sold on this on first listen.

‘Natlys’ is the first song to be taken from her new album, and it’s also the title track too. Dorthe wrote the music and lyrics herself, with production by Michael Hartmann.
