Some Icelandic ethereal Goddesstry now. New artist Disa and her second single and video ‘Stones’.
It’s a spooky little thing, this one. Down-tempo in tone, but with one great element that lifts it from the doldrums and into the amazing – the almighty chorus! Euphoric electro that’s accentuated by the downplayed verse that comes before it. ‘Stones’ it short and sweet – two verses, two choruses and an outro that’s reminiscent of ‘Joga’, the lead single off of ‘Homogenic’, from Disa’s most famous fellow Icelander.
She had us from the first line of her press release – “Disa’s music shares the qualities of her native country. It is cold yet compelling and you always sense an underlying risk of eruption”. That’s a good line, that one. She’s currently working on her debut EP which will be released later this Spring.
‘Stones’ is out now and has been released outside of Iceland too.
