Swedish drag act Diamond Dogs has undergone a major reinvention in time for the summer. A relaunch as Diamond Dogz – when Drag Actz go Dansband!
First single is ‘Min Utegrill’, the video for which was released this week. An ode to her portable barbequeue, it’s a comedy offering obvs. Yet under the novelty is – dare we say it – a very catchy and thoroughly enjoyable song. We can’t be the only ones catching ourselves muttering the “oh jag älskar min utegrill” refrain, can we? Oh dear.
We love us some dansband, and we adore us some drag, so this one was always going to be a no brainer for us. If you’re not a fan of either though – then you may well wish to steer well clear of this one. You cold hearted, joyless shit.
Natch, the video is ridic also. And natch we love that too.
