Darin returned today with brand new single ‘Mamma Mia’. And erm………HELL YES.
It sounds like a cross between an Ace of Base hit and an Official FIFA World Cup theme song. Make of that what you will. But we’re heralding it as sheer genius. As we approach summer – ‘Mamma Mia’ makes a credible proposition to be THE soundtrack of the hottest and bestest months of 2014. It’s the sound of summer. And it’s also the sound of him pretty much putting the majority of his Swedish-Pop-Chap contemporaries in the shade.
It goes without saying that there’s an amazing chorus in place here. But the good thing is, you don’t even have to wait for its arrival to be all like WOW. That moment happens when the beat kicks in at 00:10.
It’s too early in the day to be throwing around phrases like “BEST SONG OF HIS CAREER”, but…..but…….but we really REALLY want to.

‘Mamma Mia’ was released today on Spotify across the Nordics. We don’t know when an iTunes release will follow, and quite frankly – fuck knows what they have in mind for everywhere else. We do however get the impression that there’ll be more of an international focus on Darin this time around. ‘Mamma Mia’ is his first single with Warner Music – and surely the only thing that would have made him leave Universal after only two albums with them, was the promise of a proper international push. Well if anything deserves it, it’s this;
