Swedish synth-soul is a genre that’s been picking up a hell of a lot of steam this year. And this week saw the debut release of the latest peddler of the sound – 17 year old Daniela. ‘Eternal Lie’.
Suitably moody in verse, with a downplayed emotion that has all the more impact for it. But if you like your song’s music to make an impact as much as your song’s emotions, you don’t have long to wait – the chorus is huge. A big dramatic burst of sound and vox to hammer home the song’s point.
Daniela, aka Daniela Sörensen, has previously worked with that other great Swedish soul girl who has debuted in 2014 – Sabina Ddumba (sorry, but we’re just not feeling the Seinabo Sey love that everyone else is). And the two don’t sound dissimilar to each other either.
The track is produced by two 17-year-olds – Vidar Trojenborg and David Bekic.
