Fresh new single from fresh(ish) Finnish popstrel Clarissa. It’s called ‘Lies’. So this Clarissa clearly isn’t interested in explaining it all.
The song is a sophisticated, kinda sexy, and ever so slightly sparse electro number. Nothing groundbreaking, but it pays a respectable homage to the more pop orientated electro divas of late, and actually wouldn’t have sounded out of place on the new Kylie album. It gets quite repetitive towards the end. But it’s a good kind of repetitive. A hook you want to hear repeated.
Eurovision obsessives may recognise Clarissa from when she attempted to represent Finland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with ‘Top of the World‘. And at the end of 2013, she won the Unsigned Artist of the Year award at Nöjesgalan.
‘Lies’ is written by Oskar Nyman, Joel Isaksson, and Annette Lundell. Produced by Oskar Nyman.
