Dame Carola is still in the midsts of her Elvis and Babs phase. After touring her show of covers from both artists, and ahead of her album of the same inkling, she released a new single in Sweden this week – her version of Elvis’ ‘Suspicious Minds’.
It’s currently doing ‘the business’ on Swedish iTunes, and it’s quite nice to see her name listed back at the top alongside the likes of Robyn, September, and Britney. Although we’re looking forward to the day when it’s with a brand new schlager track, we’re not gonna lie!
As for the song, well it’s a pretty straight forward cover. Beats are added for a bit of variation, but the guitar chords and sound are hugely faithful to the original. And Carola sounds great on it, but that’s a given by now of course. Below you can hear the track in its full studio version, and below that you can see her perform it live.
