Benny Anderssons Orkester have come out with a new Christmas single for 2012. ‘Vinterhamn’ is its name, it’s cute as a button, and most impressively of all – it’s got Benny & Björn as its songwriters! Benny & Björn from bloody ABBA no less.
Like all of Benny Anderssons Orkester’s best songs (we’re looking at you here, ‘Story Of A Heart’ and ‘Kära Syster’), vocals are provided by the sublime Helen Sjöholm. And in turn, ‘Vinterhamn’ is right up there with those other two highlights of BAO’s repertoire in terms of quality.
It’s a soft ballad with a fairytale melody and a regal production. We all know just what Mr Benny Andersson is capable of in the melody department, and this is another of his triumphs. You can listen in full below.
