What would you do if you found out that there was a brand new single released in Sweden yesterday, that written by THE Benny Andersson and THE Björn Ulvaeus? Them from Abba. Together. New song.

Well if you’re anything like us, you’d *SQUEAL* a little!

It’s happened though. It’s ‘Kära Syster’, and it’s the first single from the new album from Benny Andersson’s Orkester, ‘O Klang Och Jubeltid’. As with the first single from their last album, ‘Story Of A Heart’, the music was written by Benny, and the lyrics by Björn – certainly a surefire way to draw some attention to the release. And the vocals, as with ‘Story Of A Heart’, are performed by the wonder Helen Sjöholm.

The track is available to listen to in full on Spotify in Sweden (and possibly outside of Sweden too, we don’t know). And whereas ‘Story Of A Heart’ was full on pop, ‘Kära Syster’ is a tad more downbeat, and altogether quite dansband actually. In its four minute length, it also builds and builds, managing to incorporate TWO key changes within. And it’s a hugely sweet listen the whole way through – thanks to Helen’s vocals, just as much as Benny and Björn’s music and lyrics.

If you can’t find it on your local Spotify or iTunes, then you can listen to a 30 second sample here.
