Most of you with an eye on pop music will be aware of the news of Leona Lewis vs Avicii by now. In short;
- Leona Lewis premieres her new singled ‘Collide‘ last Friday
- Everyone realises that the backing track is remarkably similar to that of Avicii’s ‘Penguin’ (which we wrote about here a few months back)
- Avicii’s UK label, Ministry of Sound, go public to say the track has been stolen
- Avicii himself takes to twitter to voice his disappointment
- Everyone tuts and shakes their heads at Leona’s people for being so brazen
- The world continues to revolve
Now however, Swedish DJ and producer Avicii (aka Tim Berg, of ‘Seek Bromance’ fame) is fighting back. With music. HOORAY!
He has speedily decided on one of the many vocal toplines that him and Ministry of Sound had been working on for the past six months, having previously painstakingly dissected each one, trying to find the right fit for his ‘Penguin’ track. And today, the final decided track has been unveiled. It’s called ‘Fade Into Darkness’ and has been around on youtube for a while. But here it is;
It’s fucking brilliant isn’t it?!
What’s more, they’re wasting absolutely no time on this. It’s being released on Friday on iTunes. THIS Friday!
