She’s been ‘bubbling under’ ever since last year’s impressive debut with ‘House‘. And recently bubbling over thanks to lots of kind words from Popjustice. Now this month Amanda Mair will finally release her self titled debut album – and you can already listen to clips of each of the tracks on iTunes. At the moment it’s just being released in Sweden – but if you live outside of Sweden you can order it from our online store here.
Today though, she premiered her new single and its video, over on Gaffa. It’s ‘Sense’!
This one’s got more in common with Popjustice favourite ‘Doubt’ than Scandipop favourite ‘House’. It’s upbeat and catchy pop rather than atmospheric and melancholic balladry. Although of course we’re perfectly fine with both. Especially if it’s gonna sound like this.
The video is quite ace. It’s nice to see Amanda in colour for once, for one thing. But also it shows that she’s got a great sense of humour too – holding up banners asking “who is Kate Bush” (who she’s been compared to) and “I prefer Spice Girls“, “it doesn’t make sense“.
Brilliant;
