Amanda Jenssen has got a new single out right now. It’s called ‘Ghost’, it’s good, and that’s all very well thank you, we’ve already covered that here. Yesterday however, we took a listen to the single’s b-side, ‘Illusionist’. And knock us down with a retro ornate feather, it’s bloody well even better than its a-side.
It’s a a gloomy winter ballad. A gorgeous gloomy winter ballad. If you’re the sort of person to weep at songs, you’ll either be weeping at how sad ‘Illusionist’ is, or weeping at how good it is. It’s a little bit brilliant. And that it wasn’t chosen as the a-side over ‘Ghost’, sort of defies belief really.
Her new album ‘Hymns For The Haunted’ is released next month in Sweden, but if you live outside of Sweden, you can already pre-order the album on CD from our online store here.
Amanda has released both ‘Illusionist’ and ‘Ghost’ outside of Sweden too, so knock yourselves out if you enjoy this one. iTunes link below the song;
