It’s taken a while hasn’t it? There have been EPs, hits and misses since Norway’s Sigrid released ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’ just over two years ago (though actually, it’s been almost FIVE years since we first featured her on Scandipop – ‘Known You Forever‘, anyone)? But now, the super-talented artist is out with her debut album ‘Sucker Punch’.
What’s on it? 12 tracks of some of the finest pop brilliance around.
Best bits? The ten-out-of-ten moments that are ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’, ‘Sucker Punch’, ‘Strangers’ and new single ‘Don’t Feel Like Crying’.
Know them, what else is good? Our faves of the newer songs are ‘Mine Right Now’ and ‘Sight Of You’, plus ‘Basic’ is very promising, and ‘Business Dinners’ is endearingly ‘out-there’, and lyrically in the same vein as ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’. Oh, and ‘Never Mine’ is electropop HOT.
Any new sides and sounds? It’s quite nice to hear her take it a little softer on both ‘Level Up’ and ‘In Vain’.
Any negatives? I mean, personally, we would’ve just made it a tad longer and chucked on a few more of the fan faves – ‘Schedules’, ‘Plot Twist’, ‘High Five’, ‘Raw’. But we can always make a Sigreatest Hits playlist for that sort of thing.

You can find ‘Don’t Feel Like Crying’ on our Best New Pop playlist.
