A new Sarah Dawn Finer album! A new Sarah Dawn Finer Christmas album.
Hasn’t she already done one? ‘Winterland’, back in 2010. A relatively recent Christmas album, but one which has already become a DEFINITIVE Christmas album. The style, the song selection, the mood – ‘Winterland’ really is the perfect Christmas album.
So is ‘Vinterland’ a Swedish language version of ‘Winterland’. That’s what we assumed too, but it’s got nothing to do with the ‘Winterland’ album actually. 5 brand new compositions, and the rest are covers of both much loved and lesser known Christmas songs. And it’s the first time SDF has tackled any of them.
Any stand-out tracks yet? Well, it’s a bit early in the year for us to be putting it on heavy rotation just yet. But the title track, written by Laleh especially for Sarah, is quite the stunner.
Another future classic Christmas album from SDF? Since 2010, there is no Christmas record we’ve listened to more than ‘Winterland’. And based on that, it’ll be ‘Vinterland’ that we give all our attention to this Christmas. We reckon she’s done it again. What a woman.
