What’s this? Why it’s only the long-awaited arrival of the debut album from Norwegian artist Dagny! Or ‘Side A’, at least.
Side A? The album is called ‘Strangers / Lovers’, and comes in two parts. Today she releases Side A – ‘Strangers’, we assume.
What’s on it? Six songs – her two comeback singles ‘Come Over’ and ‘Somebody’, plus four brand-new songs.
What are the new songs like? Somewhat incredibly, most of the new tracks are even better than the singles. ‘Let Me Cry’ is our instant fave, but we also love the downbeat drama of ‘Tension’. But really, if melody-driven pop is your thing – this six-song package should be soundtracking a lot of your time until Side B arrives. We’ve always known Dagny was something special, but hearing her work in (half) album format really solidifies that notion. She’s truly up there with the best of them, with this album surely remaining a highlight of the year by the time 2020 comes to a close.
