What’s this? The debut album from Icelandic artist Birgir. This is ‘Untold Stories’.
What’s on it? No less than seven of his previously released tunes finally gathered into one place, plus an intro and an interlude, and finally three brand-new tracks – ‘After All’, ‘Take Me Higher’ and ‘By Your Side’.
What’s the best of the new songs? ‘Take Me Higher’ sounds like it’s gonna be the sleeper hit of his new ones. Sleeper because it’s quite understated and unassuming, but there’s a powerful song there that’s all ready to capture the hearts of anyone who listens.
Other highlights? Our faves of the bunch are two of his most up-tempo and feel-good anthems – both earlier singles of his – ‘Home’ and ‘Alive’. However, new song ‘After All’ sounds like it’s gearing up to join them, and is similar in tone, too.
