What’s this? Danish pop titans Alphabeat have cemented their triumphant return with the release of the all-important new album – ‘Don’t Know What’s Cool Anymore’.
An album rather than an EP? Wow, they really don’t know what’s cool anymore, do they? And we’re all the richer for it! They’ve delivered a full record of wall-to-wall, heart-on-its-sleeve, brilliant, unabashed pop. And it’s already standing out as a highlight on the 2019 music landscape. Get aquainted.
What’s on it? Well as well as the two massive hit singles, ‘Shadows’ and ‘I Don’t Know What’s Cool Anymore’, they’ve given us seven new tracks to wrap our listening gear around.
Any new highlights? It’s much too early to say, but oh go on then. Initial stand-out moments are the S Club Party vibes of ‘Back Of My Bike’, the delightful Danish country trillings of ‘Goldmine’, the sassiest break-up we’ve heard on record in a while, ‘Now You Know’, and the brutally honest but tongue-in-cheek playful biographical number that is ‘Sing A Song’.
